We had the good fortune of connecting with Sylvester Cobb and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sylvester, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I knew that I wanted to be my own boss and do something that I’m passionate about. I was tired of going to a 9-5 and having a cap on my income. I knew that if I worked hard on my own business, it would pay off.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe what sets me apart from others is my eye for things and musical background. As a music artist, I tend to look at visuals from an artist prospective as well as a director’s perspective. I understand that an artist’s image means a lot and how you capture and present them can make a difference. I am most proud and excited about growth. I love going through this journey and seeing my progression. Looking back, I’ve come a long way and still have a long way to go. I’ve got to where I am today by having faith in God and working hard. Whenever I work on a project, I give it my all. I’m always brainstorming on how I can step it up and become better. It wasn’t easy at all. Growing my brand and gaining clients has been and still is a journey. I overcome those challenges by reminding myself that “Rome wasn’t built in a day”. To be successful and get to where you want to be in life, it’s going to take time. You have to trust the process. I’ve learned that you have to have fun with what you do. It’s too easy to get wrapped up in your work and become stressed. That can cause you to lose your passion. The passion is one of the driving forces. I want the world to know that there is much more coming in the future from Ves Visuals. They can expect more music videos, films, albums, etc.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m from Louisiana so I would definitely take them to get some seafood and poboys. As far as places and activities, I’m not sure. It’d depend on what they’d be into doing. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First off, Thank God. I can’t thank Him enough! Shoutout to my wife & children! They keep me motivated, and my wife is super supportive. Also, shoutout to my parents and all of my family and friends that are supportive. From giving me words of encouragement to believing in me to helping out on set for video shoots, it’s all greatly appreciated. Shoutout to Winners’ Circle and No Help Records!
