We had the good fortune of connecting with Tara & Chelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tara & Chelle, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of the Mimosas & Lattes Brand is our personal relationship. We are not only business partners but most importantly, we are best friends and spiritual sisters. Given that, we share some of the same ideologies and beliefs it makes for good karma, in allowing our audience to feel and want to be connected to a brand that believes in themselves and in the ideas of others.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As Social Community Influencers’ it’s imperative that we set a tone of positive expression. Every day we are in search of creatives who are making a difference with intentions on leaving their mark in the world. We are excited about our future endeavors together and separately, as well as the avenues that have been afforded to us throughout this time. How did we get here? Wow! The opportunity fell in our hands (giggles). However, building and maintaining the brand is not always easy. We face the challenges head on with much prayer first off. Consistent communication is priority between Tara and I even if we don’t see eye and eye, and we must find resolve within a few days. There are so many lessons to be learned when going into professional partnership with a dear friend. What stands out for us is the lesson of Separation between the personal and business relationship. No matter what happens in business be it successful or not we never, ever bring it into our personal relationship. We were established on friendship, trust and love before anything. If the choice was to ever choose FRIENDSHIP WINS! We want the world to know or we gave everyone a chance to promote themselves and entertain others and that’s our motto.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Yaaaas! Well let’s go! First, hit up your favorite Home Girls, Mimosas & Lattes on Instagram. If you are on a health kick and still want to spice it up soulfully, you have to visit “Sunshine’s Vegetarian Deli Shop”. Then, get your camera ready to take some of the dopest selfies and shots at Houston’s most popular Graffiti Walls. Later in the evening get ready to visit “Taste Bar Houston” for some southern cooking, and cocktails and the DJ will spin your favorite tunes. Oh, and don’t forget you got to feed your soul on Sunday morning with Pastor Keion Henderson of “The Lighthouse Church” in Humble, TX.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
ABSOLUTELY! We would like to shout out none other than the AMAZING team of the “C. Allen Experience” and host of the Apple Podcast “Bro, Where’s My Phone” (right here in Houston, Texas) Christopher Allen |Photographer Extraordinaire, Semetra Samuel |The Artistik Rebel and LeTony W. Hadnot Jr. |The Nocturnist Not only have they supported every aspect of Mimosas & Lattes movement; we have collectively joined forces to enhance the creativity of H-Towns artistic vibe.
