We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiana Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiana, what do you attribute your success to?
I’d have to say consistency. I always compared my content, likes and views to other influencers. Especially when I first started. But the key to growing any business is to stick with it. Promote, interact and network consistently. Before you know it you’ll look up and your brand will be so recognizable.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve always had a creative side that I never fully tapped into until the pandemic. I started getting into photography right before things shut down. During the pandemic I used that time to practice and harness my skills. That’s around the time I started branching out and trying new restaurants. I got tired of eating fast food. Every time I would hang out with my friends I’d ask them “okay but where we finna eat”. They started telling me I should start a blog and the rest is history. In the beginning I didn’t realize that shooting quality videos and aesthetics mattered as much as it did. So there were a lot of blurry videos and pictures starting out. It was a lot of research that went on. From YouTube videos to inboxing other influencers on what to do and how to grow. My goal with this brand is to always showcase not only the popular places but places that may be less recognizable that also have quality food.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my favorite spots in the city was Houston Grub Park. They’ve temporarily closed down but they had a DJ, events and so many food trucks. You could get a little bit of everything without having to pay for parking or be overly crowded. It’s the perfect spot when your group can’t decide on what to get. Everyone can get something different and be satisfied. I love art so my favorite place to take any tourist or visitor is to third ward or the graffiti park. The murals and graffiti are beautiful. There’s so many talented artist in this city.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My friends and family. They supported my vision and goal from the beginning. They pushed me to keep going every step of the way.
