We had the good fortune of connecting with TypeShit Jazzi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi TypeShit, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Since my adolescence I had a love for music. I knew how to sing and Ide write my own poetry. But I was a reserved child. Quiet and shy. So I didn’t really show my gift. It wasn’t until 2019 where I went through the hardest times of my life that it took me down a really dark path with my mental health and it was either going to make or break me. I hopped into a studio expressed my pain on a track and the feeling that gave me made me never want to look back.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Personally I don’t feel anyone is special. We are all our own individual. But what I do know is I have one hell of a story to not share it with the world. I make the music I make because it’s all personal. &Its really hard to express yourself sometimes. I want people who went through the things I went through to know that they aren’t alone. My music is relatable to Single Mothers, Victims of Suicide, and Domestic Violence. Having someone relate to me through my music is what I’m most excited about. I want to be able to help uplift and heal, because there is too much hate in the world right now. My journey has been long and hard and it’s still not over. I think with the help of my team and those who genuinely love me is what gets me through the challenges that I face. I’ve learned a lot of lessons but the one that means the most to me is to stay humble and appreciate every moment someone enlightens me or even corrects me when I make a mistake. Every opportunity to learn is the best lesson. What I want the world to know is that I like everyone else am human. We all experience pain at some point in our lives. &Ive overcome all of this being a single mother of four and if I can still maintain and follow my dreams no matter how hard it gets you can too!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a very introverted extrovert but my favorite spots always change. As of right now my favorite spots to eat can range from Jinya in Houston or the Taco Trucks on edgebrook. As far as exciting, I try to be the most exciting anywhere I pull up. But the most exciting people to check out are other artists that I have the privilege of sharing the stage with. I could name them all but would that be too long? 😂 If there is a show in Houston you can bet I’ll be there a long with other amazing people who have stories to share. 💙🤞🏽

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
God first always. My manager Domingo (Dom) who has opened new doors and helped me with a lot of my business aspect of my career. My dad who has been about the only person by my side through everything. &Most importantly my Children, when things get hard they are my biggest motivation to keep going. I do this for them.
