Children and youth are provided with support to accomplish these goals. Children with autism don’t have the same support and opportunities. Autism is a serious developmental disorder that impairs a child’s ability to communicate and interact with others. At OnPurpose Enrichment, Inc. (OnPurpose), our mission is to eliminate barriers to youth in need by enriching their education, careers, and lives. As a social enterprise we pay our youth to learn. Education is tuition-free and scheduled during their work experiences through Information Technology (IT) Apprenticeships. I started Wheels and Heels HTX to get the people the car community brings together the chance to give back to the local community. The impact to those local organizations have been good, but we continue to strive for great. Most events are hosted as a show where the person or club hosting needs to get reimbursed for the money they’ve spent to have the event or it’s a benefit for a particular person who has suffered a financial tragedy and needing to cover funeral expenses or medical costs. What I do is different. I host a meet, free of charge for anyone and everyone to attend and request supply donations for a specific local charity. Many of our small local charities get overlooked or no one knows they even exist. There are many meets hosted around Houston, the car community here is huge, but most of them meet for fun, which don’t get me wrong it’s fun to hangout at any time. Read more>>
