We had the good fortune of connecting with Eric Harleston and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eric, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
I think the most important thing I have done as a parent For my son was put him in a position to where he does not have to worry about finances, investments, and generational income. I’m proud to say that my son Not have to worry about growing up in a hostile environment/neighborhood. He is set for his future so when he finally turned 18, he won’t need to ask for any handouts or favors.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is my honesty and truth. I grew up in Ridgemont 4, which is a hood in Missouri City/Southwest Houston. Dedication and a hard work have brought me to the position. I am in today and no it was not easy growing up no one from my neighborhood or anyone I knew had a creative outlet as far as dance goes. A lot of times I was criticized for wanting to dance and dropping sports but the lessons I’ve learned along the way have opened my eyes and my horizon on all there is the offer in this world. If there is anything I would want the world to know about my brand in my story is that it’s real, authentic, and humbling.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friend was in town for a week, we are definitely hitting up somewhere. Houston’s most prolific restaurants/bars during the day we would most likely discover Houston’s landscapes, private parties, nightlife. My first would probably be the Breakfast Klub And then right after maybe some fun game vibes at Activate Houston. Almost every morning we’re hitting a brunch spot, Groove’s of Houston being my favorite brunch spot. Nightlife would probably consist of dance clubs, promoted by Soul Control A nice bar hop on either Washington or Montrose. Of course I’m a dancer so a visit to [Soreal] dance studio would definitely be on the itinerary.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I will definitely say Andrew Baterina. From being not only a mentor and friend, but also being a role model/father figure I could look up too when I was younger.
