Meet Big Xodia | Music Artist & Voice Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Big Xodia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Big Xodia, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Taking risks is inevitable if you want to succeed. It means stepping outside your comfort zone, facing uncertainty, and sometimes sacrificing sleep, time, and resources. For me, these risks have been essential to reaching where I am today. Without them, I wouldn’t have met the people who helped me move forward, grown as a person, or gained the vision I now have for my success.
Here’s a small example:
Shoutout to my engineer, Hippie Lo. Around three months before my 24th birthday, I hit a point where I felt stuck. Sure, I was killing it on stage with my fast raps, but I wanted more—I wanted to share something personal, something real. I also wanted to tap into internet culture and lore, which led me to the concept of “the backrooms.”
To bring my vision to life, I took a huge leap. I paid for exclusive rights to beats and the engineering for 12 songs, leaving myself with only $20 to my name. It was uncomfortable and risky, but that album became my most played project to date. Songs from it continue to resonate with listeners and perform well, both online and during live performances.
This experience taught me the value of risk. Even in moments of discomfort, those risks helped me grow and showed me the transformative power of music. Looking back, I wouldn’t trade that decision for anything.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others is my deep love for music. I am captivated by its rhythm, pace, and tempo, and I take immense pride in the skills I bring to my craft. Among those skills, I am most proud of my speed. It’s something I’ve worked tirelessly to perfect. Since I was young, I dedicated countless days and nights to practicing, honing my ability to articulate every word with precision and speed. That hard work has paid off and continues to drive me forward.
Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. It required building a team and finding people who believed in my vision—through networking, collaborating with other artists, attending events, and using social media to connect with like-minded creatives. But the journey has been filled with challenges. I’ve faced broken promises, people ghosting me after payments, and criticism from those who didn’t understand or support my craft. Each setback fueled my determination to grow stronger and more focused on my goals.
There were many long nights when sleep was a luxury. I worked 12-hour shifts, came home exhausted, and still found the energy to write, collaborate, and perform. I’d attend shows, return home at 3 a.m., and then head back to work. Out-of-state events added another layer of difficulty—budgeting, planning, and navigating unexpected obstacles. Driving home late at night, struggling to stay awake, and figuring out how to bounce back after financial losses were just some of the hurdles I overcame. But through it all, I persevered.
Lessons I’ve learned along the way:
Value honesty: If you can’t commit to something, say so. It’s better to protect the connection than burn a bridge with false promises.
Know your worth: Never let anyone treat you like you’re insignificant. Respect yourself, and don’t waste time chasing validation from those who won’t offer it.
Time is precious: Spend it wisely on things that truly matter—whether that’s family, your craft, or anything else you’re passionate about.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand:
I’ve built everything I have because no one believed in me. I was underestimated, overlooked, and doubted, but that only fueled my fire. I’ve made it my mission to prove that I’m an unstoppable force—a light that can’t be extinguished. As my motto goes: I will die empty. – Big Xodia

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
NUMBER 1 If You’re going to start off in Houston let alone Texas Your going to have to go to Whataburger on god now, let’s talk about visiting there’s so much places we would have to see but let’s start with graffiti Park H-Town all the way nothing’s more OG then getting some photos there. Then of course we have to make our way to the water wall from there we might get hungry again so we’re definitely going to stop at Frank’s Pizza. Shout out! Mike after that let’s ride around downtown. You have to check out this place. Called super happy funland and there it has the raggedy ann wall and we got to take some photos in front of that hopefully we end up on the same time as checking out some vendors we have got to check out Clutch City Clothing, and hopefully grab a bite to eat from Chicano BBQ their barbecue rib sandwich is no laughing matter as the day gets later we going to straight to a Houston car meet event then hopefully hit up anime bar and enjoy the rest of our night. We also got a visit chacho’s get a coffee at agora’s coffee shop And of course stop by the galleria other than that going to have to hit up Fusion Ha so we can do that.
