My thought process behind starting my own tres leches business reflects a beautiful journey that intertwines passion, opportunity, and cultural heritage. I’ve always enjoyed cooking and baking, which has always set a strong foundation for my business. After being let go from my job due to COVID-19, I saw an opportunity to pivot my career into something I love. A former co-worker who was also a good friend requested a tres leches cake for a family gathering. It was a huge hit. I knew then that it highlighted my talent and potential, leading to the realization that I could turn this into a business. Our journey began 20 years ago when my sister and I were 3 and 6 years old. Our mother, Nicole, was in a well-known cosmetic company for 12 years. She was a top earner in the company, earning many cars, several awards, and tons of money. Ultimately, my sister and I accompanied her to all of her makeover events & parties, which helped us learn the fundamentals of business & the basics of makeup at a young age. Little did we know that once my sister, Ashlyn, turned 18 years old, that she would receive the vision through a school assignment of us beginning our own cosmetic brand, Glam Life Cosmetics.
