We had the good fortune of connecting with Regina Jazz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Regina, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success—is authenticity, especially within the jazz space.

Jazz is about truth, emotion, and connection in the moment. I’ve leaned into being fully myself—sharing my story, honoring the roots of the genre, and letting my voice reflect where I come from and where I’m going. I don’t chase trends; I let the music breathe through my lived experience.

Staying consistent, building real relationships, and keeping the soul of jazz at the center of everything I do has helped me grow not just as an artist, but as a brand people trust and feel.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from other jazz artists is my ability to blend classic jazz sensibilities with modern storytelling and emotional transparency. I’m not afraid to let my listeners hear the rawness in my voice, the vulnerability in my lyrics, and the truth in my journey.

I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve stayed true to myself through it all. That authenticity shines through in my latest single, “Million Things,” which is now streaming on all platforms. It’s one of my most personal releases to date—a song that captures the emotional weight of carrying so much and still choosing to love, to hope, and to create.

Getting to this point hasn’t been easy. The journey has come with real challenges—being underestimated, navigating personal heartbreak, and learning how to build something from the ground up. But I’ve pushed through by staying grounded in purpose and letting music be my healing force.

One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that your voice—your real voice—is enough. You don’t have to fit into anyone’s mold. When you show up as your full self, you create space for others to do the same.

What I want the world to know is that my music is more than performance—it’s connection, it’s healing, it’s testimony. My brand and my story are built on resilience. I’ve been through a million things, and yet here I am—still standing, still singing, and still reaching for something greater.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting the area, I’d want to give them an experience that reflects everything I love about being a jazz artist—soul, creativity, and authenticity. I wouldn’t just take them to the typical “tourist spots”. I’d curate a vibe—an experience that blends music, art, great conversation, and unforgettable moments.

We’d start the day with brunch at a locally owned café that supports live music or spins jazz vinyl—someplace cozy and soulful where the energy feels like community. After that, we’d probably explore a local art gallery or even pop into a vinyl record shop to dig through crates and talk about old-school legends and new discoveries.

For the afternoon, I’d take them to a hidden gem—maybe a small museum or an open rehearsal at a conservatory or arts center. Something that lets us tap into the spirit of creativity without being too polished or commercial.

In the evening, we’d get dressed up and head to a live jazz lounge or speakeasy-style venue with great mocktails and even better musicians. Somewhere where the lights are low, the vibe is intimate, and the music feels like a heartbeat. I’d want them to feel why I do what I do.

And after that? Late-night diner food and deep talks. For me, the perfect day is one that feeds the soul, celebrates the arts, and makes you feel alive in the moment.

That’s the jazz of it all.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a heartfelt shout-out to organization, The Citywide Club for the incredible work they do supporting families across America. Their dedication to uplifting communities, providing resources, and being a consistent source of hope does not go unnoticed.

Organizations like this are the backbone of real change, and I’m truly inspired by their commitment to making a difference. Thank you for all you do—you are deeply appreciated.
