We had the good fortune of connecting with Anyissel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anyissel, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Being a student and an entrepreneur was never going to be an easy assignment. I just did not know that when I began.

Truly, my passion for lashes started in high school. I chased that feeling down bad! So many people believed in me and my start up dreams, and I appreciated them for trusting me.

I would take 5 clients a day back home, being a beginner. However, once I started college, I realized I was committing to losing a lot of my clientele back at home, and I simply had to own up to that.

It was tough for 4 years. I returned back home after getting my bachelors in communications and had to rebuild my brand Pink Flutter from the bottom up again.

Things were slow and seemed like they were never going to pick up again so took a gap year and went back to school to get my masters at NYU.

I’m still doing my masters, but with a new mentality on everything this time around. I took a risk and started lashing in a suite instead of at home. I have been trying to gain more followers and gain more actual interactions from viewers but ITS TOUGH.

Still, I want to continue doing everything I love without fear of losing. It’s all in the right timing. I’m just hoping it’s soon.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Since I was a little child, I have been motivated by a desire to serve others and create a significant influence. I have always held the belief that beauty and makeup is one of those arts; much like a painting, that possesses a special ability to move audiences and communicate feelings that may be challenging to articulate. Simply changing the way someone looks at themselves and feel! during an appointment can be life altering.

You know, I have met a lot of different women (and men) that struggle with self love. I have found that lashing is the most ideal way for me to communicate with people, support them, and express emotions and challenges.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Anytime you are in New York City and want a peaceful day visit Hill Garden Park for beautiful scenery. Pier 1 for the most amazing chill atmosphere or highland park for a beautiful upbeat day.

If you want some really good food try out food anywhere in the Bronx!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout God for holding my hand through this process and my siblings for believing in my talents.
