We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharon Taor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sharon, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is the community support. I could not have asked for better customers, both 2 legged and four legged. Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming Richmond opened a little over 3 years ago and we started with 2 groomers and myself, the community has supported us tremendously. Today we staff 9 groomers and 3 front desk staff…this would not have been possible without the amazing support of the community of Richmond and Fort Bend.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Woof Gang Bakery is the leading specialty retailer of pet food, pet supplies and professional pet grooming . Woof Gang Bakery offers the very best in pet care by providing quality products and grooming with a service-oriented approach. We are a neighborhood pet store committed to the well-being, health and happiness of pets. Our grooming services defiantly sets us apart from other salons, we use top quality grooming products and appointment style grooming, your pets are not sitting around all day waiting to be groomed. We also have a very educated staff when it comes to pet nutrition. We are continuously learning and doing several training courses for our products. We are always wanting to continue to learn and grow within this industry. I have been very blessed with the growth of my business….hard work, dedication, amazing staff, customers and many long hours have helped me get to where I am today business-wise. Was it easy…no not at all. I opened my business 3 years ago, 2 weeks after opening I was preparing my store for Hurricane Harvey. I was very nervous and hopeful that my business would make it through that crazy storm, we very fortunate to come out without any damage. In 2018 and 2019 mother nature gave us some more challenges with flooding that caused some minor damage with our business. Like most businesses 2020 has given us some challenges…COVID -19 has defiantly made me think outside the box and be open to changes daily. Some of the lessons I have learned over the past couple years are each day brings a new challenge and how you deal with that challenge will dictate the next day. I grew up in small town Canada (Newfoundland) my husbands career took us around the world and Richmond, Texas has become our home away from home. We could not have picked a better location to open a business and live, my customers and staff are my extended family. Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming Richmond brand is your neighborhood Pet Store, we are here to help you with all your pet needs and more. We are very involved in the community, donating to local rescue groups, schools, sports teams and local businesses.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
You cannot visit Texas without some amazing Mexican food, Pablo’s Mexican restaurant would be our first stop for amazing food and drinks, The Houston Zoo, Houston Rockets game, Astros game, NASA and the Houston Museum of Natural Science are defiantly places to visit and hangout. The Brazos Bend State park is a must for out of town guest…there is something fun about showing friends alligators just hanging out.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would not be where I am today without the support of my family and my staff….I have the honor of having some of the best groomers and front desk staff in the industry. Each one of them go above and beyond each and everyday to ensure everyone leaves happy….both 2 legged and 4 legged customers. I think this comes easy when you love what you do and we defiantly love our jobs.
