We had the good fortune of connecting with Creature Hii and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Creature, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
At one point in my i really felt like i wasnt capable of doing anything, or keeping a job. Nothing stuck. I didnt care about any hobby or task to stick with it. Then i started dabbling in music production and for 2 years i kept my head down and it became my passion. I didnt care about anything my whole day revolved around making sure i had energy after work to stay up and work on music. To get better and to challenge myself every week with a new genre. It came natural and gave me goosebumps whenever i would hear the end result.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
At this point in life im proud to just be more of a wiser artist. Feel like im reaching those fine wine years where the craft is mastered and now you just get to be free with any direction. Im so excited to go into 2021 with a new sound that i get to test out on the people. I dont like restrictions so this is just perfect for me. Making people uncombfortable is the goal. I had many challenges as a female producer. Most didnt take me serious for the first two year, or they just expect you to send them a bunch of free beats as if your desperate. It was a challenge trying to cultivate a lifestyle to where my beat is equally heard 50/50 with the featured artist. When people hear it they should know thats Creature Hii. I finally feel like im getting to that point. Patience is what i learned and also not forcing or changing my style for numbers.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If i took a week off right now i would be a every gluttonous food restaurant in the city. I would blow there taste buds to smithereens lol Honestly though, i like relaxing things , record store, bar, great food, and fuzzy socks.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family played a large part in who i am today. My parents were the type to put me in every single extra curricular activity . I got to try out so many things from karate, choirs, to student council. You name it, i did it. That put me in so many different crowds, many friend groups. My brother he showed me how versatile could be. He is a hiphop head but in his teenage years he would randomly dabble in metal and other heavy music. He had movie soundtracks that i would remember by heart just to have conversation with him. It got to the point to where i would take his cd’s just to protect the music and keep it in the family. I was seriously a nut. But i owe my versatility to him.
