We had the good fortune of connecting with Hey Cowboy! and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hey, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind our success is being ourselves in our music and creating relatable, inclusive content. We hope our music can provide an escape from the everyday monotony; a daydream that leaves the listener feeling refreshed.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We felt an instant connection when we first started jamming. We were all learning our designated instruments and have gotten to be experts at communicating with one another, what we want to hear in a song we’re working on. There is a lot of value in producing and releasing content, learning how to market and manage our Hey Cowboy! “brand” through our online presence in this ever changing age of the music industry. We love our band and we have so much fun creating together.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Outdoor Activities include : Barton Springs in the morn’, Krause Springs in the ‘noon. The cave: if you know you know 😉, Deep Eddy pool, and (and don’t forget that Pool Burger on the way out),

Places to Eat: Elizabeth Street Cafe, Thai Fresh: Get the ice cream and a sweet sticky rice ball! Brunch at Bouldin Creek,  Loro : spawn of Franklin’s BBQ and Uchi, Trattoria Lisinia: Wine n’ dine with some fancy pastaaaa in the hill country, Ramen Tatsu-ya

Drinkin’+ Hangin’ : Ah Sing Den on a Thursday night, Hole in the Wall: karaoke in the back room, Kinda Tropical, Cheer Ups: live music and good times under the disco ball, moon, and stars! Hotel San Jose for the micheladas and frosé


The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We would like to shoutout the Denton and Austin music scene. The support from these creative communities have lent us spaces and opportunities to further our experience and exposure.
