We had the good fortune of connecting with Titus Byrd and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Titus, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process was that I use my the resources that I have gained throughout my basketball playing days.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have a internet entertainment network. I do mini documentaries and interviews on some of the top high school athletes, college athletes, professional athletes and Dj’s of major artist as well as the artist themselves. I’m most excited about getting these stories out on some of the amazing people, and allowing people to see what they been through in order to make it. I’ve gotten where I am professionally through hard work and long nights. Because I played basketball at every level, I’m blessed to be in a better position to network with a lot of athletes. But just because I know a lot of athletes didn’t make it easy. These athletes have busy schedules and having to fly out and film along with having my own life with a 6 year old son it’s still a hard process. It was difficult learning how to edit the video once I’ve recorded. Coming up with the way I want to lay out the story is very challenging. I’ve been able to overcome the challenges because I understand that things take time so I had to keep telling myself that I have to be patient. So I would have to say that keeping a positive mind is what helped me overcome my challenges. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that everything is earned. I still have to work myself to the top and that there isn’t any hand outs. My brand is built around empowering others.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would make sure we hit Turkey Leg Hut, Breakfast club and Prospect Park. We would hang out at CityCentre to bowl and eat some more. Go to a Astros game and Top Golf. Those are some of my favorite things to do in Houston and I’m sure they will enjoy it.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My son Titus Byrd Jr & Mother Aerica Stephens.
