We had the good fortune of connecting with Tarra Love-Richmond and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tarra, what’s your definition for success?
A lot of people seem to think success is just about money, fame, and popularity. But it’s not always about that. Its simple! It’s just by meeting your goals and your expectations that you have made for yourself. It’s accomplishing something greater than yourself. Something you’ve set your mind to and strived hard to accomplish. There is success in the smallest things that we do. I have not reached my highest level of goal yet, but that does not make me unsuccessful. I had to accomplish a million tiny goals to get to where i am today! That’s success!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Good Girlfriend Type Girl is 2 organizations under 1 umbrella. Good Girlfriends is our sisterhood club and Type Girl Inc is our modeling agency. They both have their separate duties, however; together they have 1 accomplished goal, and that’s to serve our community. We humble ourselves into giving back to the community by volunteering where is needed, giving generous donations to help the homeless for the holidays, and hosting quarterly events to bring the community together. However, it has not always been easy. Mishaps and errors have occurred along the way but as a team we let nothing stop us and have learned The key to overcoming is to not give up and tackle things head on! We try our best to keep an honest and positive outlook for ourselves in order to build the community’s trust so that we can continue to help the world one heart beat at a time!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The best places in the city are not the most expensive ones with the white glove and collar services, it would be the least expensive ones with the karaoke, where you can dress comfortable and let your hair down… I’ve experienced the best parts of Houston at Sharky’s Waterfront Grill eating delicate food sitting by the relaxing lake. As well as El Refu Bar & Restaurant will give you an old fashion good time with karaoke and a mixed crowd and great music.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
All the praises goes to the members of our organizations. Without their willingness to motivate and empower the community while fighting their own struggles has pushed them to be great leaders for this community, we would not be able to tell our story today!
