We had the good fortune of connecting with Dominique Nwajei and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dominique, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Initially, I was a young, ambitious Attorney dining headfirst into the legal field. Law was all I could think about. As time went by, I got married and had a family. Now, my goal is set on maintaining a healthy work/life balance. Why work hard if you can’t enjoy it? Today, I am all about enjoying the moment before it passes you by.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I put my heart into everything I do. If you have a problem, we have a problem. To me, you’re not just a case file, you are a living, breathing, human being who deserves the best shot at life. My job is to take on your problem headfirst, and make life easier for you. I got to where I am today by working hard and showing up. Every day is not doing to be easy. You have to show up and most importantly, show out. Throughout my years of practice, I have learned that when you treat people how you would want to be treated, you will go far.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely stop then by the Turkey Leg Hut and Houston Sauce Co vegan food truck. With the Texas heat, we’d have to grab a frozen from 5015 where everybody knows Steve! Lastly, I’d tour the museum district for some sophisticated fun.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
To my strong, fearless mother. Without her pushing me from the beginning, I would not be where I am today. She is the definition of a Black Queen.
