We had the good fortune of connecting with Casey Nwachukwu and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Casey, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my #MotivationMonday brand is being myself. This platform allows me to channel my true personality—being funny, loose, and creative. Without having this platform, I would not have been able to know who I truly am in the first place. Blessings among blessings.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
– The #CaseysMotivationMonday journey started in 2018 a year before graduating from the University of Houston. Ever since high school, I was someone a person can go to for advice or positive affirmations. I originally posted motivational quotes on Snapchat before transitioning to recording weekly videos on multiple social media platforms. – Topics that are discussed within this platform includes unlocking personal gifts, individual happiness, disabilities, and many others.
– One thing I am most proud of is the impact my content has had on people. For the past 3 years, people would tell me how much inspiration they get from watching my videos. There are people who would even mimic my intro whenever I am around them: “Ohhh yeahhh! What’s up, what’s up y’all man! It’s ya boy Casey!”
– The road to where I am with this platform has not been easy; nothing is ever easy. Balancing this channel with career goals has had its ups and down, but overall, this process has allowed me to appreciate the journey that I am on.
– What I want people to know about the #CaseysMotivationMonday platform is to focus on yourself and appreciate the gifts that you already have. Every single one of us have a specific role in this world to fulfill, and our unlocked talents will touch someone in the future. Love you….for you.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For breakfast, I would take them to “Black Walnut Cafe”. Their Chicken and Waffles, Candied Bacon, and Peppermint Mocha has me full every time. A place I love going to is “Andretti’s Karting and Games”. Being a naturally competitive person, I enjoy racing against other people and do not like losing. Houston Rockets games are fun to attend even though the team is not doing well right now. The food, halftime entertainment, and seeing the players in real life is hard to pass up. A restaurant that is consistently on my mind is “Yardhouse” in the Memorial City mall complex. I went there for my birthday last year, and their Bone-In Ribeye steak has me wanting more.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to, first and foremost, thank God for giving me a platform to talk about topics that mean a lot to me. Furthermore, my friends and family have had a huge impact on the success of the #MotivationMonday movement. The tips and love they give me- both the good and tough- have consistently shaped this channel.
