We had the good fortune of connecting with JOY MPEZENI and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi JOY, what are you inspired by?
GRACE

40 years ago there was a little girl who experienced a life-altering event that led her down a dark and lonely path. One where peace of mind and freedom from the mental torment of childhood sexual assault was a luxury that she desperately desired and yet it seemed so elusive. By age 21 she had attempted suicide twice and had given up hope that she would be normal like everyone else. The little girl was 4-year-old me.

I had given up all hope for any sense of normalcy in life. Disappointment and despair had been my shadow for so long. Only GRACE could save me. The night that Jesus Christ touched me and gave me peace and my life meaning, I made a vow to Him that I would serve Him all the days of my life. It was then that the concept of Pink Girl Teaches was birthed; The woman-The Method-The Voice.

I decided that it was crucial for me to not be influenced by a culture of success but rather to live with a mindset of significance. My deepest desire is to be effective in the work that I do to help transform the lives of my clients by helping them change the path they take on the quest for meaning, dignity, purpose, and hope. I had to essentially become who God created me to be and fearlessly step into His plans and purpose for my life and extended the message of GRACE that was given to me in my darkest hour.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

I am the founder of Pink Girl Teaches, a certified Life Coach, and my expertise is in narcissistic abuse recovery. No, I don’t work with narcissists; instead, I partner with victims of narcissistic abuse as they transition through the FOG – Fear, Obligation, and Guilt as they recover and reclaim their identity, thus changing their trajectory lives.

One of the misconceptions about narcissists is that they, for example, “take a bunch of selfies” and “want to be the center of attention.” However, someone with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) has a mental disorder. They can blend easily into society and are usually well-liked and viewed as charismatic. The truth is they are predatory and seek to control, intimate, and manipulate every aspect of their victims’ lives, leaving the victims with a shattered self-concept.

As a narcissistic abuse recovery coach, I take a holistic approach with my clients, recognizing that they are experiencing a soul injury. The abuse affects them mentally and emotionally and then influences their will – their soul. I lay the foundation for recovery in that order and from a Biblical and Spiritual perspective.

I offer private coaching sessions and group coaching and host regular workshops. I have created safe communities for survivors and thrivers to come together and continue to heal while inspiring and validating each other. It is a blessing to hear their testimonies and witness how God has been gracious to them. I use my voice to educate, equip, and empower narcissistic abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault victims as a speaker.

What sets me apart from others is that the woman you see today decided to trust God to be God and heal her. He did that, and I will not be silent as a result. I will not stop speaking, teaching, creating YouTube and TikTok videos, Recording podcasts, writing books, and doing whatever He tells me to do to spread the message of radical grace.

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV

Why Pink Girl Teaches?

“Pink” is my favorite color, and interestingly, it represents compassion in psychology, which is an essential quality in my line of work. “Girl,” I remember the 4-year-old me and what she needed, a bridge to cross over from pain to purpose, and so every platform that I show up on, I aim to be a bridge for someone else. “Teaches” I use everything that life has thrown at me and that I have overcome to teach others how they can come from behind and fearlessly pursue their most significant state.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would bring them to my home. I enjoy not only entertaining my guests but serving them. I am the executive chef of my home and I love creating memories around the table. AlI their favorite meals and desserts would be on the menu. Board games would be lined up and I would take the opportunity to connect on a deeper level and have meaningful conversations.

We would definitely have to go to the gym and flex in the weight room and make time to go skating and most definitely have a spa day as well as brunch at the Four Seasons.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My children Saraiya and Brandon. They are my love and hope. My heart in human form. My posterity.
