We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Mock and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emily, how do you think about risk?
When starting the nonprofit organization in 2018, I had no idea what the details would look like. What I did know was there was a calling on my life to bring aid to the hungry children of Panama. I clearly heard God tell me to start the organization and He would be there each step of the way. Four years later and God has guided this mission every single day. When your passion and calling is clear, you start moving forward and the details will come together. The risk is worth it! The mission is worth it. Life is too short to play small. We must all take many risks to fulfill our purposes on this earth and be all who God has created us to be. The greater the risk, the greater the reward.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
For the One International is a 501c3 Nonprofit Organization. We currently have four feeding center locations across Panama. We serve approximately 400 children meals each day. These children are mainly under four years old and have been deemed “malnourished” by a local clinic. We are step one to the process- get the children healthy. Step two is teaching and training the children’s families in farming. We partner with an organization who teaches agriculture to the people of Panama.
I am also a Houston Real Estate Agent and work for Compass. I help buyers and sellers across Houston and love my job. A portion of all real estate commission I earn goes directly to the nonprofit.
For the One International is where it’s at today because of the Lord’s guidance. He has been the leader of this mission and we will continue to seek Him in all decisions. I am deeply thankful for His voice. I want to fulfill the assignment He has laid out before us. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for For the One. The sweet children are worth it all!
In the future, we see more feeding center locations, more children getting healthy and more families learning to farm and garden to feed their children. We also see our work expanding to serving orphans and neglected children, and giving them a home. Our hearts long to show them their worth and value. We are so thankful for those who have partnered with us financially to help make this a reality. Please consider becoming a monthly supporter to help us as we grow!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Mike and Many Reiszner of Coreluv deserve recognition for all they do. They are an amazing couple who are serving orphans across the world through their nonprofit organization. We are blessed to know them! www.coreluv.org
