Personally, I have learned that rejection is constant and has nothing to do with my value. In the fashion industry you aren’t what some people have in mind for their design or project. That’s okay! There is another job around the corner. You have to dust yourself off and keep going. I wouldn’t be where I am now if I had quit after my 100th rejection. The most important lesson I have learned since starting The Content Plug is that you cannot (and should not!) try to scale your business on your own. It’s so easy to start out thinking that you can wear multiple hats and be the CEO, CMO, CFO, social media manager, project manager, etc. However, real success and growth occur once you add qualified members to your team who can provide new ideas, new skills, and can help you scale your business to new heights. Patience. After close to 16 years in the photography business, I have learned a lot. But the biggest lesson I have learned, is to have patience in everything that you do. Especially after 2020. Things will eventually fall into place. As a business owner, you can plan for all kinds of situations. And it is good to do so. But even with all of that planning, you will still have surprises. Just like what happened this year. You must have patience and roll with the punches of your business or industry. So have patience with yourself, your business and most importantly your clients.
