We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexcia Cooper and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexcia, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. ” -Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT
I was introduced to this scripture in 2020, At the time I was trying to control and juggle everything that was going on in my life and it started to drive me crazy. My Counselor introduced me this scripture, as an assignment, to help me to relinquish control of things that was out of my limit. When my Counselor brought Proverbs 3:5-6 to my attention, he said “I want you to memorize this scripture and say it to yourself everyday for the next thirty days and watch how God moves in your life.” at the time I was thinking it was going to be a dramatic and over the top change, but it was quite the opposite it was simple and lifechanging. I started saying that scripture to myself everyday and the more I said it the more I let go of all my control and allowed God to move me.

Remember that simple lifechanging experience I mentioned? We all know the word, but I don’t think many of us understand the meaning/feeling behind it. That word is Peace! I already knew about regular/temporary peace, but that scripture introduced me to God’s peace. That peace where you don’t worry about what your situation looks like because you know God loves you, that peace where you may not know what to do next, but you know God will guide you, that peace where you know you are not alone because God is always with you and promised to never leave nor forsaken you.

This scripture means a lot to me because it held me close to God and helped me to trust him and myself more. It helped carry me through the craziest times especially when I would start getting in my thoughts and overthink. It helped me prioritize what’s important at the time (what was in my control), It helped me realize something I wish someone would’ve told me a while ago. You can only control what YOU do/say, leave what everything/everyone do to God.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m an actress and content creator; I like to remake my favorite/recommended scenes from movies and tv shows. I believe what sets me apart from others is my details I give in to remakes and my original content. I take my time with planning out each scene I do. I learn the character(s) and understand what and why they feel the way they do so I can embody the person I’m playing. I learn each line(s) and mimic accents (if any), I try to replicate the clothing and hairstyles from the scenes as much as possible, I find a location background similar to the scenes, I treat it as if its an actual production; even if I’m the only person there.

I make content that I can relate to. I love when people can see the authenticity in what I do because you can see the passion and joy behind it. I like to challenge myself and go outside of my comfort zone, but when I do I research and put myself in that atmosphere, and I’ll ask people I personally know who may have experienced it to give me their perspective and how they felt so I can get a better feel the character I’m going for. I also take acting classes at Next Actor Studio with Trisha Ray. Going to these classes helps me strengthen my technique as an actor. Its not easy pursing an acting career because its one of those fields you have to keep pushing, accepting those rejections and using them to better your craft, working on yourself and keeping a healthy mindset, trusting yourself and your decisions, knowing what you want and pushing until you get it. Doing so opened up doors like being a background dancer for Rising Independent artist Chiyanti in her “Thangin” and “Big Ole Wagon” music videos and opened my eyes to Modeling.

Honestly, it is all because of God and the support he has given me that has helped me overcome my challenges. Fail as many times as you need to just never give up is the biggest lesson I’ve learned. It’s not just a career lesson; its an all around life lesson. Giving it your best every time because it feels good and you will make yourself proud knowing you’ve given something you love your all. Most of all understanding it’s ok to fail because you can’t succeed if you don’t fail.

I want for people to know I worked my butt off to get to be who/where I am and I will keep pushing to get to where I know I’m meant to be and develop into the woman I am becoming! I have so much I want to do and I will trust God to get me to it. I will trust the process and enjoy the small achievements because those small achievements will leads to the big ones
