We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Richardson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
Many people get into Real Estate thinking that it is a get rich quick type of business. This business is much harder than people think. It takes a lot of hustle, money and dedication to get your business of the ground. 87% of Real Estate Agents do not make it past their second year. You must also possess great Customer Service and negotiation skills.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I feel that my business comes from just being me. I didn’t change the way I act or carry myself to fit traditional Real Estate form. I still go out, wear what I want to wear, and do what I want to do while remaining professional and getting deals done. What set me apart from other Realtors is simple, I am not an actor. Clients can definitely tell when you are acting and when you are genuine. I interact with my clients the same way I interact with my family, friends and colleagues.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I was to take a friend on a night out, we would definitely hit up Midtown. There is bar hopping, great food and scenery in Midtown/Downtown Houston. My favorite restaurant is Brenner’s on the Bayou.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
While kickstarting my career Investors helped me through learning the basics of Real Estate. I learned how to cold call to obtain listings and was able to obtain 3 listings my first few months in Real Estate.
