We had the good fortune of connecting with Caleb Lowry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Caleb, what role has risk played in your life or career?
The biggest risk behind most things worth doing is the amount of time it takes to build up the thing you are trying to do. The first big risk i took in regards to my music project Lagmind would be moving from Upstate NewYork to Houston, Texas. Since then every step along the way to further what i do for the project could be considered a risk as it takes time and money to keep putting out music.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Glad to finally get our full length album ‘Attend’ out in the world this year. Something i’ve learned about music production is you don’t have to do everything yourself. Know when its time to hire someone to step in and help with their expertise.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take someone new to city to Bohemeo’s. It’s the very first spot I checked out when I moved here. They have live music with indoor and outdoor stages, Great coffee and a good craft beer selection.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to Lagmind’s Drummer Johnny. We have been playing music since i moved to Houston in 2013. Hes always down to keeping working on the projects even if things are going wrong and we have to do something multiple times to get it right. On top of that if he has something eles booked with a different band he will still do everything he can to make it to the gig on time.
