We had the good fortune of connecting with Clint Spearow and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Clint, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
Deciding to in house owner finance a larger property that we usually would only take cash for. In the long run this actually makes us more money but in this case it could take up to 20 years to receive all of the funds.
What should our readers know about your business?
Jason and I stated Spearow Land in January of 2016. We have been a family owned and operated company for the better part of 5 years now. We started buying very small Rv lots on the coast and 5-20 acre tracts basically in the desert. A few years in we shifted into larger properties and things sort of grew from there I guess. It was not easy the first few years at least. I was working a lot trying to just learn all of the legal side and negotiate with sellers to buy properties. Then you throw in needing to turn around and market a property and then intake a handful of calls a day everyday trying to sell it, and yeah, it usually ends up being a ton of work. I think we have just been doing it so long, we have learned so much every year and there is totally no going back now.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
You know I have just been grilling at home lately.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely. I would be nowhere with out Jason my partner in our land businesses. He got me into doing this paid to train me and then offered me the position I have today, He actually deserves a lot more credit to our success than I do but that’s another story. He also has a offshore boat and I just throw him a little gas money for awesome fishing trips which is nice.
