We had the good fortune of connecting with Corinna Young and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Corinna, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.”- Marianne Williamson This quote by Marianne Williamson is my favorite quote. I believe that God has gifted everyone with infinite potential to pour out greatness into the world. For me, it is this greatness that fuels yet scares me. But I would rather be powered by my potential than potentially losing out on opportunities because I am being fueled by fear.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Christian creative. I create faith-based content through my brand “Christian Under Construction”. I have a passion for helping others to be inspired, empowered, and encouraged to start and sustain their faith journey. My brand is all about progression in Christ, not perfection. I use my own life as examples of how I’ve grown and continue to grow in my faith walk. I have written two devotionals “Christian Under Construction: A 30-Day Inspiration Manual on Building a Progressive Relationship with Christ” and “Love Is…A 30-Day Devotional On Understanding the Love of God.” Faith-based writing is my passion. I do not have a professional writing background and that has been challenging, but what I’ve learned is even the greats were once novices. It is through God that I am able to pour out my purpose into the world.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am still pretty new to Houston, but some places that I love are Dish Society, Taste Bar & Kitchen, Gatlin’s, and Prospect Park. As a laid back person, I have found that the best places have a mixture of great food and good music.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The person that deserves so much credit to my success is my mother. She was my biggest cheerleader and supporter. Her strength and tenacity to push through difficulties has been passed on to me. She passed away last year and I continue to pass the torch to inspire, empower, and encourage others through my passion and purpose of pursing Christ and God in all I do.
