We had the good fortune of connecting with Erick Duenas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erick, every day, we talk about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
My wife Damaris and I were returning from our honeymoon and we were talking about how much we enjoyed our wedding and how much fun we had from day one all the way to wedding day. We were also excited about receiving our pictures and photo booth pictures as well. we noticed that the USB drive given to us was empty and never got to see our photo booth pictures. This sparked an idea in us and decided to start a photo booth business. We promised our selves that we would always make sure our customers received their pictures and had an exciting time at the photo booth by always providing an attendant to display great customer service.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Growing up, I was surrounded with music; my father, uncles, and grandparents are all musicians. This naturally drove me into the music industry and decided to get my bachelors in Music Education from the University of Houston. I have played Trumpet with many internationally renowned latin and jazz artist and have been part of the entertainment industry for many years. Being a husband, father to 2 beautiful children, Sebastian Alexander & Ellie Rose, professional musician, Band Director, and business owner has not been easy at all. This has not been easy at all but has taught me about time management and discipline to be able to balance my life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take them to the POST Market under the SkyLawn and its beautiful scenery of our beautiful city. They have great selection of food and great spots for some awesome pictures. We would have to go see an Astros game at minute maid park to experience that Houston fanbase we all love to be part of. We would definitely have to visit The Taste of Texas for the best stakes in town alongside great customer service.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First of all I want to thank God as I could not do any of this with out his help. Secondly my supportive and mastermind behind everything, my beautiful wife Damaris Duenas and her family who has been with me since day one. Lastly, a mentor of mine even though he might not know it, Ed Hendee, founder and owner of the Taste of Texas. While I worked through college, I worked at the Taste of Texas restaurant and would always listen to his ideas, speeches, and business talks. I would always pick his brain about business tips & tricks and always helped tremendously. Thank you to everyone involved in my life.
