We had the good fortune of connecting with Erin Furry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erin, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I should write a book about my story and would love to share it in the interview. Starting at the age of 12 I started acting up, running with the wrong people, and getting into lots of trouble. I’ve been to juvenile/ jail many times and almost lost my life. I have had a lot of loss in my life so I ran from the pain but finally hit my bottom.
I went to rehab when I was 17 willingly and realized I needed help. I did so much therapy and worked through all my past traumas which helped me immensely. I’ve been through ups and downs since then but it wasn’t until I found my passion for life and the love of my life before the true transformation happened. Starting g at age 24 my whole life started to shift and I learned how to manifest anything I wanted in life and more. Now I am in the best shape of my life, happier than ever, and inspired plus inspire many in my life’s work. What a great journey it has been!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have created two brands so far and it hasn’t been easy since I have no schooling in business. Luminous Heart Wellness was created from finding my life’s work and passion. It consists of Massage, Yoga and Fitness. I put all my heart into all the work I do so that’s where the name comes from. I think my skills, knowledge, and intuition in my massage work is unlike much you will find. It’s hard to find a great massage therapist but my reviews are continuously something I’m extremely proud of. I’ve learned how to balance work and life because I used to overwork my body into the ground. I have learned how to set boundaries and know when to say no. This helped me be more in tune to my own body and needs.
From my work with the Steel Mace and Yoga, I created my own brand Steel Mace Yoga which is a practice I developed and trademarked on my own. I have created an entire curriculum on this idea and have traveled all over teaching workshops and education. It stands out because I was the first one who started this way of training and it’s completely different than anything else out there. It has been challenging to find the right team to support and market the brand. I have learned that it’s extremely difficult to run this kind of business alone. Im currently in the process to patterning with a big brand to form a team.
What I love the most and stands out about my brands are the logos and how they go together. They have a lot of significance and meaning behind them. Feel free to check out both my websites to learn more.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am an outdoor kind of girl so I would take them to all the sites outside. Barton springs, running and biking around the greenbelt and lake, paddle boarding, wakeboarding on Lake travis, swimming holes outside of Austin. I would take them to outdoor patios to drink margaritas, eat queso and Texas Mexican food. I love crawfish so if in season go to crawfish boil. At night take them to dance where my favorite Djs are playing (although this is all different now because Covid)
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Mother for giving me knowledge, support, and inspiration my whole life. She’s the closest to my heart. My Husband for guiding my on the path to my highest self and supporting me through the toughest times. Love of my life!!
My coach, Owner of Viking Ninja, for giving me the tools to teach fitness and gain confidence in leadership.
