We had the good fortune of connecting with Grace Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Grace, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is that I created my company to fix a problem, not just to make money. Of course making money is amazing but, fixing a problem creates longevity and puts purpose behind your work. Skincare products marketed to Black women are more toxic due to societal pressures to confirm to European beauty standards. Eco Luxe by Graced Esthetics products aim to motivate long term benefits and maintenance for skin without sacrificing your health.
What should our readers know about your business?
What sets Graced Esthetics apart is how we actually listen to what our customers needs are before creating products. We’re extremely customer centric. It warms my heart when I receive messages from women that have struggled with their skin their whole life until they started using our products. I got to where I am today by not being afraid to fail or pivot when struggles came my way. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is how important it is to stay true to myself and my brand in order to stand the test of time, and also not to follow trends.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love trying new restaurants in Houston. Besides skincare, eating is my favorite hobby. I could go on for days! Some of my favorite places include; 13 Celsius, Sixty Vines, Postino, and my all time favorite….Crisp.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Women everywhere that never give up.
