We had the good fortune of connecting with Hugo Vrsalovic and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hugo, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
Life Is Wonderful.Love started in June 2019 at a retreat for compulsive gamblers. I was asked to the wrap the retreat since the original person had to leave, so I went back to my room and rewrote the 12 Steps of Recovery in 20 minutes into The 12 Steps Explained. Creative and Innovative approach in explaining how The Steps work and getting more people excited and grateful for being an addict and stepping into recovery. Step One – We Believed a Lie … all the way to Step Twelve Faith, Hope, Love.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Recovery is Beautiful and Your EQ is Your IQ are statements that I want the world to hear so we can lower and eliminate any stigmas for people seeking emotional and mental help. We never question anyone with a broken bone, rash or virus as they seek medical help. Emotional diseases are more crippling and last longer yet people refuse or delay help because society sheds a negative light on them and their issues.

Addiction unfortunately is everywhere and touches too many families. My creative abilities allow me to share the triumph and struggles of Recovery with a podcast, social media posts, a blog and a System designed to allow someone to recover and work the Steps in 18 weeks, saving a person valuable time.

My 25+ years of experience without drinking and gambling allow me the unique perspective to help many people and explain The Steps which are a Design for Living so more people repair relationships and find themselves. It has taken 2-1/2 years of hard work to develop the Recovery Freedom Circle, which is the pinnacle in the Addiction/Recovery field.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Houston is defined by NASA, Bayous and BBQ. I take my friends to NASA and tour mission control and the Saturn Rocket, follow that with a lunch of Texas fatty brisket so the meat can melt in their mouths by the best pitmasters in town, add some cole slaw, cobbler and lemonade and you have a full meal. Walk along Buffalo Bayou from Waugh Bridges to downtown and back and admire the Houston skyline and the richness of the bayous that surround our fine city.

With extra days, I would venture to San Jacinto monument so people can feel the victory of Texans and the reason we are here today. Learn the history of Texas and go shopping and eating in the Galleria and around the Galleria area.

If you are fortunate to come at the end of February and the beginning of March, take them to the Houston Rodeo. A sight to behold.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Shoutout includes Fr. Leininger, a Jesuit priest who said, everyday is a good day for a quiz, which meant be prepared everyday for some type of challenge and 12 Step rooms for showing me love and acceptance.
