We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennie Slaw and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Since I quit eating meat, I was constantly getting asked “what do you eat, salads?” So I wanted to show others easier healthier food & lifestyle options.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I would say that I am an influencer. People really do watch, listen, & apply the advice that I provide. Whether it be in health, business, real estate, fashion, etc. I got to where I am today simply by not being afraid to take the step forward & pursue anything that I wanted to try. I get asked quit often by different people “how did you get into this, or get into that?” & I always tell them I just tried it. Entrepreneurship really isn’t rocket science but you definitely have to be built for it. Most people are afraid to fail or afraid to hear the word no. Me personally I’ve never been afraid of either one. The worst thing a person can tell you is no. That doesn’t mean I’m going to stop whatever I’m doing because 1 person or 100 ppl tell me no. I’m going to keep going, because at the end of the day I’m building a brand, wealth, etc for myself, my family, & for generations to come. If anything I would like for the world to know about my story & my brand, is that I didn’t quit, & I wasn’t afraid to go after what I wanted.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend that came In town for a week, I would take them to every single place that’s on my Trappinghealth Vlog. We most definitely would vlog them trying out the places that I recommended. So we definitely would eat good, get relaxed & pampered, & have fun at the same time. To name some of the places we would go eat are Soulfood Vegan, Lindiana’s, Meeks Vegan pizza, Chef Kenny’s Vegan Asian Cuisine, etc. Then, I would take the to try aerial stretching at The Arts Houston. Since we would be completely sore from there we would get a body massage by FinessiNbodies & a facial from bed of roses wax facial studio, & end the trip by visiting a comedy show that T.r.Wells was performing at.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to Tristen Wells who is the producer, editor, & cohost of the Vlog & number one supporter of the brand. I also would like to dedicate this shoutout to my dad James Adams, who just recently passed away on June 25, 2021. From him I inherited my hustle & my drive for entrepreneurship.
