We had the good fortune of connecting with Jesse Watson Jr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jesse, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always inspired to work for myself. I knew that I couldn’t stop working while building the business so there had to be a plan put in place to make as smooth a transition as possible. Being present for my family and creating legacy has always been the thought process behind starting the business.

What should our readers know about your business?
Nothing was every given to me so working hard is in my DNA. My parents did the best they could and a lot of who I am today is because of them. In 1997 I was diagnosed with Narcolepsy, found myself on longterm disability and subsequently was let go. My doctor labeled me as totally disabled and unable to work. At 24 my career hadn’t really started yet and seemingly it was over just like that. I was denied government benefits and found myself having to take almost 500 pills a month to maintain per the doctor’s orders. Eventually, I found myself homeless with a diagnosis that had no cure. My decision was to lay down and be a part of the system or do something about it. I strongly believe that if you change your mind you will change your life. This period of my life laid the foundation to where I am today even though I still haven’t arrived. There is no quit in me. Through this experience I have shed myself of vanity, selfishness, being prideful, self pity. I gained tenacity, dependence, stronger faith, the ability to self inspire and being relentless.

My experiences in life now benefit everyone that I serve. I understand the value of customer service and going above and beyond. For my clients there are few limitations on what I will or will not do to best serve them. A small number of people where there for me when I had lack so I am extremely grateful and again my clients benefit from that.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Having someone this close visiting for a week, I would mostly leave it up to them on what all they want to do. However, there would be a few things that we would have to make sure we do. The breakfast klub (with my boy Marcus Davis and his wife Mel), MIA’s Table, and Mikki’s Cafe we would definitely have to include to get some great food and atmosphere. Depending on the time of year, because I’m I sport management, we would absolutely take in some college and professional sports. Sports is huge in Texas. We would likely take in some of the community events in Sugar Land Town Square, Discovery Green and Millers Outdoor Theater. My family is known to have a great game night so we would have to give them that experience as well. Our city has soo much to explore a week wouldn’t do it justice.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to dedicate this Shoutout to my wife and children for sure. They are reason for my relentless efforts everyday. Everything that I do is mostly for them.
