We had the good fortune of connecting with Kendale Walker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kendale, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
How to know if I should keep going or give up can be difficult There are highs and lows with being a singer. Sometimes things are going great and gigs are booked and then there a days when you can’t get one person to respond when trying to get plugged into a location to sing at. I keep going because of all the patrons who tell me to keep following my dream.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a fifteen year old singer songwriter who started singing when I was seven years old. I told my parents I wanted to be a singer so they put me in voice lessons. I have never thought it was hard because I enjoy singing so it makes it easy. Now getting my name out there and having people trust I can sing has been very hard. I think it’s because of my age but I plan on continuing singing where I can and show the world that I am very capable of singing
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Definitely would take them on a Segway tour of Houston. To learn the history of Houston along with all the murals to take photos at.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to my parents for always supporting me while I try and accomplish my goals.
