Meet Matt Woodfill | Lead Pastor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Matt Woodfill and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Matt, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought behind starting the The Way Church comes from the scripture in Isaiah 43:18-19, “Remember you not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make the way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” It says, the Lord Jesus will make, “THE WAY IN YOUR WILDERNESS”; therefore, this is the vision of The Way Church. The Way Church vision states: LEAD all people to Jesus Christ, and EMPOWER them by the Holy Spirit to GROW, and to SERVE in the local church and in the Kingdom of God. Pastor Matt Woodfill of The Way Church says, ‘One word from God acted upon in faith can change your life forever.”

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We believe the church is an essential service in our community. Like a hospital the church is a place to receive spiritual healing. One must understand there is no “perfect” church, but we serve a perfect Lord and savior Jesus Christ. As The Way Church we are blessed to minister to the entire family as we fulfill our vision to “make the WAY in the wilderness.” Our goals represent souls at The Way Church understanding people are not your problem but they are our purpose. Consequently, it is not easy and many times challenging, but as we continue to stick to the vision and purpose which is people it is so rewarding. The number one thing we want to communicate to the community is EVERYONE is WELCOME at THE WAY CHURCH no matter your age, race, or socioeconomic status. We will make you feel loved and at home when you visit The Way Church.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would invite them to The Way Church in The Woodlands, Texas either on Sunday at 11am or Wednesday night at 6:30pm. We all need community and friends and I don’t know of a better more loving Biblical community made up of wonderful loving families than The Way Church. As we always say, “Give us a year of your life via faithful attendance to The Way Church and we guarantee you will look back on that year and you will see positive spiritual change.” Some of the exciting things at The Way Church is the plethora of ministries for the entire family. One of the many ministries at The Way Church is the WayKidz ministering on Sunday and Wednesday to the next generation. The scripture says in Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the WAY they should go and when they get older they will not depart from it.” At The Way Church, “We count the KIDS because the KIDS count.”
