We had the good fortune of connecting with Matthew Nicholas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Matthew, what do you attribute your success to?
I think we can contribute a lot of our success to our willingness to put in the hard work when times are both tough and when things are going great. Every business goes through ups and downs and its our consistent effort and determination to keep growing, adapting, and adhering to our customers needs during those times that help contribute to our success. Of course the support from our partners, vendors, clients, and our faith are instrumental to the growth and success of our brand as well.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Nico Logistics is a company that listens, learns, and surpasses the needs of our customers. We know every client and vendor are different and adhering to the specific requests of each one is what sets us apart from the rest. Building trusting, lasting relationships are the foundation of our business….. As we continue to grow we are very excited to not only build on our current relationships but create new ones too.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love attending live sporting and music events so it would probably have to do something along the lines of going to a Rockets/Astros/Texans game and catching a show at some of the many amazing music venues we have around town such as White Oak Music Hall, Bayou Music Center, Last Concert Cafe, and The Woodlands Pavilion just to name a few. And of course then there is the food which Houston is famous for but with too many to name we would probably hit up a bunch of Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurants throughout the city.
Alright, so let’s jump right in! The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there a person, group, organization, book, etc. that you want to dedicate your shoutout to? Who else deserves a little credit and recognition in your story?
I think with every person there are countless personal experiences and people we meet along the way that help shape us into who we are. I have been fortunate and blessed in my life to have had family, friends, and mentors to provide guidance, support, knowledge, and even sometimes a good kick in butt when I needed it. I am also very lucky to have my loving and supporting wife and children by my side.
