Hi Nahema, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
For as far as I can remember, I was the friend that everyone would come to for advice about their wardrobe for interviews. I had no idea that I was providing a service. I always thought I was being a friend. As I got older and entered the workforce, I noticed a disconnect in how employees were presenting themselves compared to the vision of the company. I have always been intrigued by how people presented themselves professionally and the link between the power of appearance and customer satisfaction. So, I created Black Gold Imaging to collaborate with companies and provide executive image coaching, ensuring employees were a reflection of the companies mission. Not only does Black Gold Imaging cater to companies, but it also helps one-on-one clients to reinvent themselves in every aspect of their lives. My dedication is to bring the beauty of every person to the forefront of their exterior through the style choices they make. For me, your wardrobe is a tool for communication, and I want to help clients to deliver a powerful message through their appearance. Your first appearance is a lasting one, and my mission is to help my clients cultivate a powerful image that aligns with your brand.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Black Gold Imaging is an image consulting company specializing in enhancing your professional and personal appearance. It is my responsibility to ensure that the client’s outer appearance is consistent with their professional, social, and personal lives. Empowerment fills my clients with their new level of confidence that grants them the opportunity to get a job, promotion, positive attention, or more involved in their community. From individuals to groups and corporations to the mom who felt she lost herself, I am here to enhance the ABCD’s of your image (appearance, behavior, communication, and digital footprint) I am proud of how I am helping people achieve professional and personal goals through the power of appearance. I am proud of what I have done for my clients to help them shine through with their newfound level of confidence. Seeing their transformations and pure joy lets me know that they are ready to conquer the world! I am also proud of myself for betting on me and stepping out on faith. This road has definitely been challenging, but I NEVER gave up. No matter how hard I cried or if fear crept into my mind, I kept pushing. What sets me apart from others is I’m the image consultant that clients feel comfortable coming to when they think they’ve let themselves go. They want more for their professional and personal lives but are unsure how that should be communicated verbally and through their appearance. My motto is, “let’s transform their life through style”! I want the world to know that it is never too late to go after your dreams. The journey that I have been on has seen multiple changes and I’ve flowed with it all. My brand is more than picking out trendy looks for you, Black Gold Imaging is a lifestyle brand here to cater to every avenue of your life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were to visit me, from the airport we would head to Prospect Park over on Fountain View Drive for a few drinks. What would life be like if we didn’t go shopping? The Galleria is the place to go because they have just about every store you can think of. We are lovers of live performances, so I would take her to Alley Katz to hear to sweet sounds of Marium Echo.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to Shoutout a few of my friends and family. I am grateful for the fact that I have a circle that believes and encourages me. No matter how crazy I think my ideas may sound, they are there to push me forward.
