We had the good fortune of connecting with Paige Prince and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Paige, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Working as a full time high school History teacher and a freelance makeup artist is challenging. I find planning or writing out plans to be the most beneficial thing I’ve done to keep a work life balance. Apps like Square, iCal, and Outlook have been so very important and help me make sure I keep up with my busy schedule.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Palettes by Paige is different from any other makeup artist because of the ways that I understand the cosmetic industry, the customer’s needs, and the positive energy I pour into my clients. There are MUAs available all day that are willing to offer the same services as Palettes by Paige, but the difference is my clients are not just a number. You all are original palettes that exude beauty and grace, and our collaboration is something that both of us can be proud of. Palettes by Paige ultimate goal is to become an international makeup artist.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting Houston we would have so many things to do. Friday night we would probably go to the Turkey Leg Hut and enjoy the various businesses on Almeda! On Saturday morning we would take a walk down Buffalo Bayou Park, then in the afternoon we would stop by Under the Volcano for their delicious smoked salmon tacos and their Bloody Mary cocktail. I would drive my friend around the loop so that they can see the Houston skyline. Finally Saturday night we might try Rooftop Cinema or go to Playhaus II! On Sunday we would enjoy brunch at Chapman and Kirby and then end our Sunday Funday at home with a delicious homemade dinner!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out my Mom, Pamela Williams, her love and support have been imperative in my life. I love you Mama and I don’t know what I would do without you! Secondly, I would like to thank my clients and anyone who has referred clients to me. You have made my dreams come true and I am so thankful for the opportunities you have granted me. I am committed to growing and learning with you. Finally, I would like to thank my family and friends! You have consistently listened to me and been there to support me through thick and thin! Thank you!
