We had the good fortune of connecting with Pam House and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Pam, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
You deal with people who have personalities that can be stressful when planning and having a wedding.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The estate has went through many challenges as the land has transformed tremendously during the time it has been in the family. The House family acquired the land in the 1830’s and House estate was built in the 1890’s. The House family worked the land from ranching to rice and soybean farming to timber management to the transformation of the historic house to a wedding venue. Many remnants of the earlier days remain such as the hand dug water well and the house itself. The House family has tried to continue this rich link to history by commemorating some of these treasures in a small museum onsite. House Estate is able to offer a timelessness and nostalgia that just cannot be replicated in other venues.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Zube Park, the Showboat Drive In, Kleb Woods Nature Preserve, Houston Premium Outlets, the Shack Burger Resort, Mezzanotte, Berry Center, Boardwalk at Towne Lake, Telge Park, Neal Berry Farm
