We had the good fortune of connecting with Patrice Lindo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Patrice, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My core thought process for starting was based on cultivating and leading a community of like-minded women through the transformational journey to personal and professional growth, empowerment and success. Specifically, I help women uncover their limiting beliefs to increase clarity and develop a strategic career growth plan.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As the CEO of Career Nomad and Renaissance Coaching and Consulting. I am on a mission to help 500 mid-career professional Black women by showing them what’s possible personally and professionally with perseverance and heart centered transformational leadership. I want to help women re-engineer their mindset and the language they use daily. I help women to release imposter syndrome, limiting beliefs & related behaviors to reimagine their dreams of success and expectancy based on their “why”. I serve the mid-career professional woman that considers the ideal role and what it takes to get there as: 1. Family influenced industry/job/degree choice 2. Male dominated roles/careers get “best” treatment 3. Driven by feeling challenged and sense of autonomy 4. Merit based raises are the BEST 5. More money IS MORE 6. Desires to have BIGGER impact 7. Non traditional path to current job/industry 8. Keeps up with industry trends 9. Currently is (or desires to be) a thought leader within own unique lane These women are no longer working just for experience. They bring specific work experience and expertise “to the table”. They have a body of work that is ever present. I have discovered that much like I was about 10 years ago, these women are ready to connect with the internal work necessary to achieve the professional confidence on 1000%…no matter what’s happening. My experience includes being recruited by and working for 3 of the 4 BIG 4 Consulting Firms. I share what I learned along the way in addition to best practices that help on the journey to getting the career opportunities and life they want.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
It’s been a few years but my favorite place to visit is the Houston Museum of Fine Arts. The experience is transformative and helps to broaden your perspective on creative expression and art overall.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to thank my family and “framily”. Both of these have been my support, encouragement and a big part of my success. They are central to helping me identify what’s important in life and finding self-fulfillment.
