We had the good fortune of connecting with Prechaus Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Prechaus, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Since i was in 6th grade, i knew that i wanted to be a entrepreneur. I started selling candy and chips at school & i loved it. Then i began to sell world finest chocolate and i realized aha I’m working for someone else. I remember the joy i received from making my own profits. That’s a feeling I’ll never forget.

As i got older, i knew that i wanted to make additional income aside from the job i was working but i remember feeling afraid, doubtful & ill equipped. That was a lie! Those lies were used to keep me inside of a box. I knew that it would take great courage with the help of God to step outside of that box. So, that’s what i did!

I knew that I could do all things through Christ which strengthens me, i had the mindset of a entrepreneur, marketer, salesman. Truly, what i needed was faith, faith that I could really do it & that this was something for me.

I battled with anxiety and depression for a while when i started my business just because i was getting in my own way.
One day i was outside on the balcony and i saw this little boy chasing after another boy riding fasssstttt on this bike & he did not stop chasing after him. It caught my attention and i couldn’t take my eyes off them.

All of a sudden i heard a quiet, still voice say “You see how that little boy is chasing after him on the bike nonstop? Keep chasing after me.” I burst into tears, i knew it was God and i needed that encouragement.

Starting your business always looks like a breath of fresh air & fruitful! The reality is it takes a lot of growth, spiritually and physically to truly align your thinking what your purpose.

If i would’ve let the mindset of fear, doubt, anxiety and depression deter me from starting my own business, i would still be unhappy at a job i dreaded going to.

It is easier said than done BUT what’s for you will always be for you, believe in yourself, get rid of negative thoughts and trust the best version of yourself.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m the CEO of Good 3ats Mobile Catering Service, we specialize in preparing meals such as soul food, cajun, homemade desserts, American cuisine, you name it, we will do it! As well as catering for small and large parties. I take pride in the experiences i have with each of my clients, i call them supporters because although we are providing the supply and meeting the demand, they CHOOSE to eat with us. That is what sets me apart from others, i want to make sure that every person that comes in contact with Good 3ats feels the love that we put into our food. Getting here was a process and is still in progress because I’m always learning. However, I know that I’m right where i should be & wouldn’t change a thing. I had to unlearn and relearn a lot of what i thought i knew about business. The Main thing was separating my emotions from my business. Often times, people get so tangled up in their emotions, they aren’t able to think straight. I knew I didn’t want to fall in that category. I’ve learned that if you want to succeed and stand out, you must be intentional, have a good support system, be guided by the great I AM & make sure you are NOT maneuvering in your own strength.

I want you all to know that, the connections, the relationships & the experiences that I’ve made and witnessed was mainly from my prayers, my heart posture, my intention & my sacrifices. The glory of God is what i want you all to experience and for it to breath over your businesses. That is what will set you apart, that is what will give you strength.

That is what keeps me going.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Omg! Where do i start? So initially we would first go and get a massage & spend time at the saunas at Gangnam Spa on the south side of Houston. Then we would head to Crafty Crab for the BEST seafood boils in town. That following day we would head to my favorite area in Houston the River Oak district and grab a bite to eat at Hopdoddy Burger Bar and catch a movie at Ipic movie theatre and then for dinner we would go to Ouzo Bay and enjoy their delicious food! If it’s a Sunday we would definitely partake in the festivities, starting at Lost & found in midtown for their happy hour drink specials and brunch meals then we would stop by Amahle and enjoy good music and lounge. There’s so much to do in Houston i could go on and on! The Post oak hotel is where we would dress up and take bomb pictures! We’d look like Instagram models after posting haha! The fun simply doesn’t end.

If we’re wanting to eat healthier it’s only right that we stop by Soul food vegan on the outskirts of downtown and try their oyster mushrooms, boudin balls, Alfredo or burgers… need i say more? Haha.

Houston is a fun and growing city! The fun & great food experiences never stops.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Less than 6 months ago, i was sitting outside with a friend of mine by the name of Paulaneshia owner of P House of Style. She begin sharing with me the business plans she had in mind, i noticed she was a little unsure because this side of business was very new to her. I didn’t let that stop me from encouraging her. Now she’s making more than she would at her previous jobs and she’s learning so much about entrepreneurship. I believe the conversation we had helped not only plant the seeds but also grow the seeds of prosperity in her life.

Paulaneshia, I am so proud of you for stepping out on faith and putting your best foot forward. Your business will continue to flourish because you are being guided by the best in the business (God) keep up the great work.
