We had the good fortune of connecting with ShuTara Nicole and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi ShuTara, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
I would have to say choosing to continue to move forward with my goals and dreams no matter what I have to face or experience to get to the finish line. I choose to keep going despite possible speed bumps or possible set backs.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a certified published makeup artist, talk show host, a loctician which is a natural hair stylist that specializes in loc care. I also own and operate a natural skin and hair care line. All my services and products are available through my company Beauty, Artistry, and Beyond by ShuTaraNicole LLC. I also have a talk show which is not like any other show you have ever experienced called Tyme With Tara. There I share my gift of tarot and many other spiritual gifts, to assist the collective with their everyday trials on their spiritual journeys. As well as provide a platform for other entrepreneurs and small business owners to present their business and products to the world. This journey has definitely been interesting and taught me a lot about myself, my strengths and weaknesses. Being an entrepreneur is not for the faint of heart especially if you have children. Every move is calculated and well thought out. Decisions not only impact the life of the business owner but the entire family as well. Failure is not an option especially when you get accustomed to the freedom of being your own boss and living the lifestyle that is not only comfortable for yourself but children as well. If you are consistent, dedicated, and hardworking you can definitely be a successful entrepreneur. The key is to not give up or stop. Keep going even when it’s difficult or seems impossible whatever you do, don’t stop moving forward.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For starters we would grab a bite to eat from one of my favorite vegan spots Lindiana’s or Houston’s Sauce Co vegan food truck. To catch a vibe, chill and have a good time we will definitely stop by my favorite hidden gem Our Little Red One Shop. You can’t visit that shop and not leave in good spirits the energy there is amazing. The best part is all these amazing places are located just minutes away from each other in the Historic 3rd Ward area. That area is full of art, good food, history, soul and fun. If you guys ever visit Houston make sure you add those spots to your list to explore. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely for this particular portion of my journey I would like to give a shoutout to Saran Adams and her store Our Little Red One Shop located in The Historic 3rd Ward in Houston Tx.
