We had the good fortune of connecting with Suzanna Woods and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Suzanna, what makes you happy? Why?
Helping and serving others has always been my passion. I find so much joy in helping build others up that may be facing mental, spiritual or physical issues. Health and fitness has been therapeutic for me during my most difficult moments in my life that I wanted to share this with others. What better way to do what you love than to create a career that not only helps others all while doing what I truly love?
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m Fit Mom of 7, Coach/Competitor/Meal Prepper and I write personal nutrition, home/gym programs, I host 35min Virtual HIIT sessions and provide meal preps for clients in the Houston/Katy and DFW areas. I have been in business since 2013 focusing on the mental, spiritual and physical transformation from the gym to the kitchen. I’m the one stop shop for getting all you need from 24hr access to nutritional needs, live sessions to having your meals prepped and delivered.
I’m most proud of my personal and business growth over the years. I have helped clients with a multitude of medical conditions from all over the United States. Each year brings new growth and that gets me fired up for what’s ahead.
I started my business with the intent to help a personal friend who was clearly not well mentally and had let her health and physical fall at the waist side. I developed a 35min HIIT program and basic clean eating nutrition program to go live virtually with the hopes that it would help her. I extended the 35min Coach X HIIT Virtual Session invite in an attempt to help and she took me up on the offer. After 15wks on my program she dropped 33lbs, 6 dress sizes, completely off all depression meds and her confidence was one to be reckoned with. She was back to her old self. Her results spoke for themselves and the client inquires and sign ups came,
It’s scary to walk away from your 9-5 into the unknown, but that dream God gave you is your calling and Purpose. He will bring you your clients just as he did your dream. Go 100% into your business and see if flourish. On your tough days you must continue to get up and press on. You cannot be afraid to fail.
The biggest lesson is to stick to your prices, morals, and mission. Don’t discount your services or depend on your friends and family for support. This is your journey so take it and run.
Coach X Fitness’ mission is to help those in need of a mental/spiritual/physical transformation. I am a solution based fitness Coach that believes that Faith, Family, Fitness and Food is the true therapy one needs to recover from loss, failure, heartbreak, illness, addictions, becoming a parent and reconnecting with the true you that was lost somewhere in life.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would definitely visit Katy Asia town for a variety of Asian food options from sushi, ramen, traditional Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese and several Boba/Tea shops. We would visit Houston Premium Outlets and Katy Mills Mall for a little shopping. For outdoor fun we would fish at John Landing Park, outdoor workouts at Paul D. Rushing Park and for a good trail run at Terry Hershey Park. Galveston is always a great place to spend a whole day of sun bathing, shopping and good eating.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost I am beyond thankful for my children, (Xayvion, Kalaila, Kalise, Riley, Deonna, Dwayne and Ryan) who are the reason I wake up with grit and determination. They believe in me when I don’t always believe in myself. They truly think I can and will do anything I set my mind to. I have yet to prove them wrong. To my late Mother, Mary Ann that I lost at 15 years old; who had the biggest heart and taught me how to serve and love selflessly. You are my biggest inspiration. My dear friend Sonia Wills, it all started with you and I can’t thank you enough. To my Coach/Mentor/Little Brother, Aaron Zambrano, you speak life into me and my business no matter how crazy my ideas are. Your success is my drive to keep pushing. To my Partner, Robert D. Perry, thank you for understanding the importance of entrepreneurship and living out your God given purpose. I would like to thank my clients for believing in me and choosing me as their coach. I’m truly honored. Lastly, my COTK family Jason and Stephanie Robinson, I give God all the Glory and Praise.
