We had the good fortune of connecting with Sydney Luna and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sydney, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
The idea came to me a couple months after I was a stay at home mom. I bought my daughter some bows from Ross and as I looked at them I thought to myself, “I can do that”. I’ve always been a creative person and If I wanted to do something, I could learn to do it. The decision that contributed was that I could make bows, be able to stay home with my kids and make money! The idea of going back to work and leaving my daughter gave me anxiety so I found something that could be good for the family.
What should our readers know about your business?
I got where I am today with being dedicated and consistently posting. In the beginning it was very hard because the market is over saturated with bows. It’s all about reaching out to people and making connections. I’ve joined a lot of Facebook groups for the bow/small shop community which has really helped with most sells. Getting creative with your pictures and also the quality of your pictures helps tremendously! What I’ve learned along the way is that people love to buy things for their kids but consistency is the key to success. Post any chance you get to put your business out there.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take her to the montrose area! There are ton of shops and restaurants in that area. I would love to go to a game night at the main event.
The best time for a visit would be to come around the time the rodeo is happening! There is so much to do.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family and Boyfriend give me all the support I need. They are so supportive with all of the ideas I come up with and they see the progress I have made in the passed two years. They motivate me all the time for me to keep going.
