We had the good fortune of connecting with Tamala Kabbara and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tamala, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I just remember as a young girl always wanting my mom to buy me sketchbooks, having these conversation conversations with my dad about how I wanted to be a fashion designer, and also a fashion model. So coming up with owning a boutique I later realized it cost way more to make your own then to sell what’s already in style, I decided to sell what was in style until of course my store skyrocketed into a place where I feel like I can create my own ideas again!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I feel like what said to me apart from other boutiques in particular is that I do not only support my small and petite women. I support my fully shaped women, my women who want to look sexy my women who want to look professional, but not boring. You can get a touch of anything inside of my store at a reasonable price.
I feel like I am most proud of the drive in the determination. I’ve had to complete my business, especially with a lot of of the obstacles that I had been through prior to me opening my first store location.
They say God always has a plan for us, dealing with the loss of a significant other is a big part of my story, she gave me a lot of push to be who I felt like I could be and the passing of her and having to start over and get to know myself again really shows me that I could do anything that I put my mind to, so it definitely was not easy. It took a lot of mental capability and also financial capability so saving was top priority, but also making sure that mentally I was prepared for the ups and downs of being a business owner because everything is imperfect, and as a business owner, we all know that we go through the highest and the lows of the business aspect.
I want the world to know that I am a regular every day, girl From Fort Worth,TX that knew that I had more to offer myself then to be confined to one city and that you also have to make yourself uncomfortable to get to where you’re headed!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
if my best friend was visiting the area I would start off by taking her to Gazebo I love the oysters there! Then if we were just going for something like maybe some hookah swing by Parkerz pick out my favorite flavor have a few mocktails ! After that, I would possibly swing by Kamp and even DND ! But not even just club wise I even like museums so I would take my friend to the butterfly exhibit in the natural&science museum

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Definitely wanna give a shout out to God first because without him I wouldn’t be able to do any of this. Secondly I would just love to thank my support system literally my backbone. From my mother , nannie , dad, and anyone who’s supported me with the simplest of post or share ! I would be no without my customers! so big ups to y’all!
