We had the good fortune of connecting with Tat H. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tat, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I am not sure the perfect balance actually exists. Life is messy and I feel we all can see such reality of life in 2020. Focusing on what really matters rather than trying to perfect that balancing act is a lot less overwhelming to me personally. Setting a realistic expectation, having an ability to adjust, get help where needed and be flexible are mostly important. We have limited number of hours each day and it’s impossible to try to do everything by myself. Otherwise you can go crazy and exhaust yourself quickly. I’ve learned to prioritize and get help both in life and business. That has been a big game changer. After all, understanding that life isn’t perfect and it never will actually helps set things into perspectives. Things can be messy. Learning to go with the flow, give yourself time and lovecwhen yo hit the bumps, have strong faith and keep trying the best you can.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I run a web/digital design and product photography business that helps small businesses create their online presence & marketing materials through both teaching the DIYers and providing a done-for-you services. This road hasn’t been easy but it has given me so many valuable lessons as a person and business owner. There are days when I don’t know where to go from here and feel stuck with my business. Mindset , belief and fears also play a big part in this. Understanding how our minds work when we face fears ad stress has helped me realize that it’s normal to feel how I feel. Take steps back to breath, refocus and try again. If plan A doesn’t work out, there’s always plan B, C, D, E, F and so on. If one person says no, it doesn’t mean that all other won’t need you. Being flexible and understanding your clients’ needs are as important as asking the right questions to help guide my clients through the process to meet their visions. I’m a firm believer in working along side and being there for them as they invest their trust in me and my business.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Houston has so much to offer when it comes to dining experience. I don’t think anyone will turn down on delicious food. So many great restaurants to explore. Some of my favorites are Dish Society, Masraff, Annie’s, Himalaya Restaurant. The list can go on and on.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Amber of @ChezMacarons is such a positive person and business owner who not only make delicious macarons but her stories inspire others not to give up despite challenges and difficulties. She isn’t afraid to share her baking mishaps and shows us that with determination you can accomplish anything.
