Meet Tayia Revis | Actress, Writer, Producer, and Business Owner of Tayia Consulting LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tayia Revis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tayia, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
Giving up has never been an option for me because I know how far God has brought me. There were moments in my life when I felt tired, discouraged, and uncertain about what was ahead, but every time I wanted to quit, I reminded myself that if God carried me through my darkest days, He would not leave me now. Without Him, there wouldn’t even be a Tayia.
I believe you know to keep going when there is still purpose in your heart, even when the road gets hard. Sometimes pain, setbacks, and delays are not signs to give up — they are signs that you are growing. God never promised the journey would be easy, but He did promise to never leave us. Faith is continuing to walk even when you cannot see the entire path ahead.
Giving up may seem easier in the moment, but perseverance builds strength, character, and testimony. Every obstacle I’ve faced has taught me that storms do not last forever. If you still wake up with breath in your body, there is still purpose attached to your life. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep pushing forward. One day, everything you survived will become part of someone else’s inspiration to keep going too.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is rooted in storytelling, purpose, and authenticity. Whether I am acting, writing, producing, or building through my business, everything I do is centered around impact and intention. What sets me apart is that I don’t create just for entertainment—I create from a place of purpose, faith, and lived experience. I want everything I touch to inspire, heal, challenge, and encourage others to keep going.
I am most proud of the fact that I am still standing, still growing, and still building despite the challenges I’ve faced along the way. My journey has not been easy at all. There have been moments of uncertainty, setbacks, and seasons where I had to push forward without fully seeing the outcome. But my faith in God, my vision, and my determination have kept me grounded.
I overcame challenges by staying connected to my purpose and refusing to give up, even when things didn’t make sense. I leaned heavily on prayer, my church community, personal growth, and resources that helped strengthen my mindset—especially books such as The Principles and Power of Vision and In Pursuit of Purpose by Myles Munroe, Your Comeback by Tony Evans, and Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, which have all helped me stay focused and forward-thinking.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that timing is everything, and preparation is just as important as opportunity. I’ve also learned that not everyone will understand your vision, and that’s okay—because the vision was never given for everyone to understand; it was given for you to walk it out in faith.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that I am intentional. I am building something that is bigger than me. My journey represents faith, resilience, growth, and obedience. I want people to know that no matter where you start or what you face, you can still become everything God has called you to be if you refuse to quit.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit me in Houston, I would make sure they experienced some of the best food, relaxation, and nightlife the city has to offer.
We would start the day with breakfast at Snooze, an A.M. Eatery, a Houston favorite known for its fun energy and amazing brunch menu. Another must-visit brunch spot would be Sunrise House in the Montrose area. The atmosphere is beautiful, the cocktails are great, the service is amazing, and the food is definitely a 10/10 experience.
No Houston food tour would be complete without stopping by The Breakfast Klub in Midtown, famous for their chicken and waffles and catfish with grits. We would also have to visit Lost & Found in Midtown, another great brunch spot known for flavorful dishes like the Cajun pasta, fried salmon, and lobster bites.
From there, we would head to lunch at Grace’s in the Greenway/Upper Kirby area, which offers the perfect mix of comfort food and upscale Southern charm.
For dinner, I would take them to TASTE Bar + Kitchen in Downtown Houston. The atmosphere is always vibrant, the food is incredible, and it gives a true feel for the city’s culture and nightlife.
To close out the night, we would head to POST Houston, one of my favorite places to hang out in the city. With a variety of food options, rooftop views, and a lively atmosphere, it is the perfect place to relax, meet people, and enjoy the Houston vibe.
To balance out the week, I would also include a self-care day at milk + honey in the River Oaks area. The ambiance and overall experience are definitely top-tier, making it the perfect place to unwind, relax, and recharge after exploring the city.
And before the visit ended, we would definitely attend services at Higher Dimension Church to get our praise on and experience an uplifting worship service together.
Overall, my goal would be to show them a mix of great food, relaxation, culture, faith, and fun energy—because Houston truly has a little bit of everything.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I have to give all glory to God. My success, my strength, and my journey all begin with Him. Without His guidance, direction, and grace over my life, I would not be where I am today.
I also want to dedicate my shoutout to my family and close friends who have consistently supported me and believed in my dreams, even when the vision wasn’t fully understood. Their encouragement has meant everything to me during both the high moments and the challenging seasons.
My church family at Higher Dimension Church has also played a major role in my growth. I want to thank my pastor, Pastor Terrance H. Johnson, and First Lady Torsha Johnson, for their leadership and for allowing God to use them as vessels to pour into so many lives, including mine. Being part of this ministry has truly been foundational in strengthening my faith, shaping my character, and keeping me grounded in purpose.
I also have to acknowledge the book The Principles and Power of Vision by Myles Munroe. I have read it multiple times, and every time it reminds me to stay focused, stay faithful, and continue moving forward with purpose.
All of these influences—my faith, my family, my church, and resources like this book—have all played a part in shaping the woman I am becoming today.
