We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiara Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiara, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Consistency. A word that definitely has a lot of meaning behind it. I have learned that my business would not be successful today if it weren’t for me and and my support system always being consistent. It takes a certain mindset to be self disciplined and keep consistent at something that you have set your eye on in order to reach a certain goal. I found that creating a vision board and simply saying “this is my goal and this is what I want my brand to look like” is not enough. Yet, being consistent and actually working hard at getting what you actually want for the rest of your life is what allows big moves to happen.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a Brow Artist, I perform brow waxing services that include eyebrow tinting (dye), trimming, brow laminations, I also do some lash work. Creating a brow shape that my clients have envisioned and are happy with at the end of their service is what I aim for. What sets me apart for one is that I have learned to actually listen to what my clients ask for instead of doing what I feel will look better. Now, there are some instances when I do suggest a different route that I think will be beneficial for them and if I get the green light we go for it. Aside from that, listening to what the clients are still actually wanting is very important.

I am proud that although, I own a very small studio I can say that it’s a big dream come true, I get to meet new people and eventually create a relationship with them that a lot of times have led to friendships that I will forever be grateful for.

I have been in the beauty industry for about 7 years now and it’s where I thrive. I have been working on brows for about 4 out of those 7 years and I am thankful I get to wake up and do something I truly enjoy doing every day. I will admit it was not easy to begin with. I did learn about the Brow world while working for someone else and that is definitely where I developed the skills I have today, it wasn’t long into my career that I decided I wanted to go out on my own eventually. I talked about it for years, I remember I would tell my clients all the time about my ideas and what I wanted to do in the future and I loved all the support I received from each individual. It was not an easy decision because that meant leaving a “stable” job behind, if you will. It meant I would be in charge of everything, specially the making sure I show up and push myself to my full potential part. With all of that it also meant more freedom, freedom to be able to still raise my kids and be there for them more while raising my other baby, my business of course.

I have leaned to seriously not give up, you hear it all the time. “It takes time to build a business, don’t give up, you got this! You’re doing great!” Etc. some days are not easy I’ll admit, I’ve had times when I have decided to maybe find myself a part time job and put my business on hold but I always have that reminder from my support system to keep going, keep pushing, business will only get better and I will be successful.

I would like to let everyone know that if you have a dream and you want to make it into a reality but it seems so far away just know that it will come if you work had enough toward it. Don’t put it on hold, sometimes we ourselves are the ones creating that blockage between us and the blessings that are meant for us. Keep pushing, the sun shines for all of us. ❤️

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would probably take them to at least one museum, I am a museum/park type of girl I definitely find it exciting to visit. Would most definitely take them on a trip to the beach, I love the serenity you can find at the beach while just listening to the waves. I love to eat and if this is a friend of mine I’m sure they’ll enjoy it as well. I enjoy all types of food, from Asian to Mexican food I could eat it all 🤪. As far as hanging out with a friend I will say I am a home body therefore would most likely hang out at my place while drinking wine and having good conversations.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband Cristian has definitely been there for me since the day I said “here’s a crazy idea! What if I open up my own brow studio”. He not only listened but he made it happen! He pushed and pushed until I decided I am finally going for it. Honestly, thanks to him I have my own business and that confidence to say to myself I am great at what I love to do therefore I am going to keep pushing forward to do even better.
