We had the good fortune of connecting with Trevione Townsend and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trevione, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
During my childhood, I faced relentless bullying simply for embracing my passions—anime, superhero movies, and the stories that fueled my imagination. Those experiences could have silenced my voice, but instead, they shaped my determination. As I grew older, my love for storytelling only deepened, extending to action-packed films like I, Robot, Transformers, Spider-Man, and Blade. These stories became more than just entertainment—they became a source of inspiration, hope, and strength.

I promised myself that one day, if I were ever given the chance, I would create my own films—projects that would not only tell captivating stories but also inspire others who grew up like me. I wanted to show that it’s possible to transform pain into passion, adversity into ambition.

Today, I am living that promise. My goal is to create films that remind people, especially those who feel like outcasts or misfits, that their uniqueness is their strength. Through my work, I strive to inspire others to embrace their dreams, defy limitations, and become the heroes of their own stories. It is my belief that art and storytelling have the power to not only entertain but to change lives—and even change the world.

My Platform also known as “Kingdom Productions” is more than just a content creation; it’s a space where I combine my passion for anime, superheroes, and storytelling to create unique, inspiring short films and skits. One of my favorite projects I’ve created is called Anime Force. What sets Anime Force apart is its mission—not just to entertain but to inspire people to pursue their dreams and believe in their own power to change their destinies. I take pride in blending the imaginative worlds of anime and superhero culture with powerful messages of resilience and hope. Seeing how these stories resonate with others and spark conversations about creativity and determination is what excites me the most.

Getting to where I am today has been anything but easy. Growing up, I was bullied for my love of anime and superheroes, which made me feel like an outsider. However, instead of giving up on my passions, I used those challenges as fuel to push forward. Starting Anime Force required a lot of hard work, learning, and trial and error. From mastering technical skills like video production and editing to developing my own creative style, I had to invest countless hours to grow as a creator.

One of the biggest challenges was building confidence in my vision and navigating a competitive content creation space. Overcoming self-doubt and staying focused on the mission behind Anime Force helped me persevere. I also leaned on the support of my circle—friends, family, and fans who believed in me—to keep moving forward even during tough times.

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is to embrace authenticity. Staying true to my passion and vision has been the foundation of Anime Force’s success. I’ve also learned the value of perseverance—there will always be obstacles, but growth comes from pushing past them. Collaboration and connecting with others have also been key; no journey is made alone, and the support of like-minded people has been invaluable.

Another lesson is to never stop learning. Content creation is constantly evolving, and staying adaptable is crucial. Whether it’s improving my storytelling, mastering new tools, or engaging with my audience more effectively, there’s always room to grow.

My Platform is a reflection of my journey—a testament to how passion and resilience can transform challenges into opportunities. I want the world to know that no matter where you come from or what struggles you face, your dreams are worth pursuing. Through my films and skits, I aim to inspire others to embrace their uniqueness, follow their passions, and create their own stories of triumph.

At its core, My Platform is about empowerment. It’s about showing people that they have the ability to change their destinies and leave a positive impact on the world, one story at a time.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Day 1: Arrival and Relaxation at Anime Matsuri Cafe We’d kick off the trip with a visit to the Anime Matsuri Maid Café in Downtown Houston. This themed café offers an authentic taste of Japanese pop culture, with maids and butlers serving drinks and snacks in an interactive, cosplay-inspired environment. It’s the perfect introduction to Houston’s anime scene.

Day 2: Exploring Kinokuniya Bookstore and Shopping at Anime Stores
We’d spend the morning at Kinokuniya Bookstore in Katy, a paradise for anime and manga fans. From rare manga volumes to collectible merchandise, it’s a place to lose yourself in Japanese culture. Afterward, we’d hit up Anime Remix in the Galleria area, a specialty shop full of anime figures, posters, and memorabilia.

Day 3: Japanese Garden and Museum District
We’d start the day at the Japanese Garden in Hermann Park. Its tranquil beauty is inspired by traditional Japanese landscapes and is perfect for cosplay photo sessions. Then, we’d visit the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) to explore their rotating exhibits, which sometimes include Japanese art and pop culture influences.

Day 4: Anime-themed Karaoke and Gaming
A visit to Voice Karaoke Bar is a must. This spot offers private karaoke rooms where we could belt out anime opening themes to our hearts’ content. Then we’d head to Eightytwo Ninety-Two, a retro gaming lounge in Chinatown, to dive into arcade games and some anime-inspired titles.

Day 5: Ramen and Japanese Cuisine
We’d have lunch at JINYA Ramen Bar, known for its authentic Japanese ramen. For dinner, we’d visit Shun Japanese Kitchen, where the presentation and flavors of the food are as artful as they are delicious.

Day 6: Anime Matsuri Convention (or Pop-Up Events)
If the timing aligns, we’d spend the day at Anime Matsuri, Houston’s largest anime convention. From cosplay contests to artist alleys, this event is packed with energy and creativity. If the convention isn’t happening, I’d look for local anime pop-ups or fan meetups at places like Kawaii Ice, which serves colorful, anime-inspired desserts.

Day 7: Relax and Reflect
On the final day, we’d take it easy with a return visit to the Japanese Garden, this time for some quiet reflection and a picnic. We’d end the trip at Boba Bae, a boba tea spot that often features anime-themed drinks and art, to toast to an incredible week.

Houston’s anime-themed spots and Japanese cultural influences make it a unique destination for anime lovers, blending fandom with local flavor. This itinerary would give my best friend memories to cherish forever!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The individuals in my circle hold a special place in my heart, and I am deeply appreciative of each and every one of them. Their presence in my life reminds me daily of the importance of love, loyalty, and genuine connection. I am incredibly fortunate to have been blessed with such a supportive and caring family who continuously uplift me, encourage me, and stand by me no matter what challenges I face.

Their unwavering belief in me gives me the strength to keep pushing forward, and their love is a constant source of comfort and inspiration. I don’t take for granted the joy and warmth they bring into my life, and I cherish every moment we share together. My gratitude for their support and the bond we share is beyond words, and I hope to always show them how much they truly mean to me.
