We had the good fortune of connecting with V Michel Buck and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi V Michel, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
With anything I do, I give it focus for at least a year. I think it’s important to have a deadline and a sense of urgency. That gives me enough time to go through the day to day, the ups and downs of seasons and holidays. At the end of that time frame, I ask myself a few questions:
1. Did I learn all I could from this experience?
2. Does the benefits outweigh the time and stress?
3. Do I enjoy it?
4. If I could do it again, would I?

If after a day of self reflection and answering these questions, I will make a decision to continue or give up.

It’s my professional pros and cons list.

It can be hard to admit defeat however I would rather spend my time doing something that I enjoy and benefits me rather than trying to save something that isn’t working for me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have ADHD and am constantly fighting dealing with creative blocks and the desire to keep going. I also have imposter syndrome so there is a disbelief in my own success. I question myself often. Is it easy? No it’s hard everyday fighting with my brain to keep going. I have found that sitting down and doing the mundane things like paperwork, helps me with bursts of creative ideas.

Everyone has a space and often times I have to remind myself not to make myself small because I take up and have space too. I don’t understand the reason why people buy my product or watch my content but I need to keep making it for me as an outlet.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Houston has so much to see, eat and experience. My best friend and I are super chill, so I would find a bunch of different highly rated restaurants in the city for her to choose from for each day. I think if you’re ever in Houston, you have to visit NASA. I love the Museum of Natural History, catch a show at the Hobby Center, Waterfall Park is a great photo opportunity. Of course a short trip to Galveston to enjoy the beach.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband and my friends, whom I’ve tried product on, will run scripts past, will ask for advice and direction. They deserve so much love.
