We had the good fortune of connecting with Virginia Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Virginia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business, was to focus on what’s most important and that is and always has been my family. My dad is the person who motivated me most. I still can hear the words of my dad to this day Gin “ you need to start your own business and stop working for everyone else. You are way too talented.” I took those words and I ran with them as fast/hard as I could. I have always loved helping others and making others feel special. The type of business right that I started allows me to do just that.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business exists to cater to those who have been turned down and told no, or told that something cannot be done. I have had so many clients come to me sad and broken about how others that they trusted to do their hair, just took their money, but didn’t provide the service they were looking for. What sets me apart is my ability to listen to what the client wants and deliver what the client needs and ask for. I also stand behind my work 100%. I got where I am today through hard work, dedication, blood, sweat and tears. It has not always been easy. I had to “crawl before I walked.”Nothing was handed to me. Through all of my, heartache and challenges of owning and running a business. I have overcome those challenges by giving back to others, and watching my seeds that I have planted continue to grow through love and kindness, sincerity and integrity. Some lessons I’ve learned along the way, is there is no harm in taking risks, but first you must think things through and have a business plan in place, and that it’s okay to receive help from others. I had a hard time, trusting others to help me with my business, but I found that with the right people having others in your corner, can actually help boost your business to the next level. I want people to know that, my brand brings a spirit of excellence and integrity to everyone. Every nationality are welcome and loved genuinely, and effortlessly.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of my favorite places in the the city are Gringo’s,  if you wanna get Mexican food & drinks. Another good place to go is Longhorn steakhouse. It is one of my absolute favorite, they always cook the steaks to perfection!, last, but not least I love nature and anything that has to do with water, because it’s so relaxing to me. I have to stop at any park that has water or nice landscaping and just sit and look at it four hours.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would first like to give a shout out to God. I would also like to also shoutout my Dad “RIP”, my mother, all of my sisters and brothers, my 3 grown children, my daughter-in-law and my four grandkids, son n law, nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and finally this one special person in my life he knows who he is, and all of my clients. I just want to thank all of you for the love and support that you’ve shown me over the years. I have so many others that I could shout out, but there are way too many to name.
