What’s the right balance between work and non-work time? The traditional 9-5 has slowly disappeared with the emails and zoom and texting going far beyond traditional business hours. We asked members of our community to share with us how they think about work-life balance.

Work-life balance is something that varies based on the individual. Everyone has different, ambitions, goals, and circumstances which will ultimately shape work-life balance. I previously had a more carefree approach to work-life balance. I would try to achieve my goals when I was in the mood, but as life has taken its course and I have grown, I have noticed how much more important it is to be relentless in my pursuit of getting to the top of the mountain. In my past experience in corporate America, I tried to separate my work and personal life. This was easier to do since I had set working hours from my company and client interactions were limited to business hours. Now as a business owner, I’ve found that my personal and work life are bumped up right next to each other, if not bleeding into one another on occasion. For this reason, I’ve tried to focus on more of a work-life integration – by this I mean finding the balance of needing to do both personal and professional tasks throughout the day.
